There is a rising trend of people looking for eco friendly alternatives as the greener lifestyle has become very popular. Instead of driving gasoline powered cars, people are choosing to drive hybrids; rather than using electrical energy made via fossil fuels, people are choosing to use solar power and wind energy; and in the household, people are using environmentally friendly appliances. Furthermore, there is a move towards donning clothing that are friendly to the environment. People are starting to understand what global warming is and so the need to provide earth friendly choices is increasing.

One fabric considered to be environmentally friendly but one that most people may be less aware of is hemp. Everyday clothing like trousers and coats may be made from hemp which as a crop comes from the ground. Making certain that it is environmentally friendly can be hindered by the fact that making hemp is inexpensive. Performing due diligence is urged as such.
A widely preferred fabric, because of a texture that is not overly heavy, is cotton fiber and you will find it in lots of clothes. Typical cotton fiber, though, is not usually made in an earth friendly way as a result of it being an agricultural product. It is not environmentally friendly that fertilizers and plenty of water are required to grow cotton. A further environmental issue is the utilization of detrimental insecticide. The production itself is not usually sustainable and often cotton is not fair trade. If you inquire if the cotton has been organically farmed then you may be able to obtain goods that are environmentally friendly. If you ask, you should be able to tell if a retail shop does supply goods and specifically cotton that is green.
Lastly, we have wool, a truly lush and comfortable fabric used in lots of good clothing. Coats, hats and sweaters are made from this material. Of course, wool originates from animals so it’s earth friendly; nevertheless, you have to make sure. If the sheep producing the wool were fed organic food then the wool is said to be organic. A more important factor is how the sheep are treated and fed. Sheep that are allowed to roam freely and eat grass are considered to be brought up humanely and naturally; nonetheless their wool will be more expensive. This needs to be watched carefully as most of the time sheep are not brought up like this.
The demand for products that are good for the environment is likely to grow as more of us realize the reasons for an eco friendly way of living.
